I tested all the relays and they all work fine outside the trucklet.

Some good news in all of this though: A tech at ECM to go asked me to get the numbers off the ECM and even advised that I could pull it out and check the board for damage. When I crawled under the dash to get the numbers, I couldn't find the factory stickers where they were supposed to be, so I pulled the unit out. When I pulled it, I found warranty seals holding the case shut and a company logo sticker for SIA Electronics. I searched for their website online and found a customer service toll free number and called it. The tech had me read her the numbers on their sticker and I found out it was still under warranty! WOOHOO! So now I'm sending it back in to them to be bench tested and repaired if needed under warranty. When it comes back, I'll know for sure that the ECM is good. Then if the trucklet still doesn't work right, I'll at least know it's not the ECM!
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

The guy is a complete idiot. You should NEVER open the ECU or even touch the pins without taking precautions against damage to the components inside. At the very least you should be earthed. The board contains many low voltage, low current devices the human body can carry thousands of volts of static electricity. Even if devices don't fail immediately their life is likely to be severely reduced. I have been involved in electronics design for over 20yrs, where I work if someone handled any equipment incorrectly it would have to be scrapped and they wouldn't be around much longer.
Glad you got a result though.

Well, he just said to open it and look and I'm smart enough not to touch any electrical board without being grounded at the very least, I know that from installing PCI cards and such in my computer...

I'm just glad I took the time to call SIA Electronics before breaking their seals since it was still under warranty! So far, I'm really lucking out with this trucklet... I go shopping for rims as cheap as possible and come home with rims AND tires for $50; I check out the ECM and it's still under warranty; I think this thing wants me to get it running! LOL!

More good news/bad news going on...

I got the news from Bioniconion that the fuel pump I needed to finish this truck apparently got lost in the mail ::) ::) ::) Oh well... I think I might have found another to replace it... we shall see...

I got a call yesterday from the ECM company. They said they got it and tested it and it had gone bad again, so they re-built it again and would be sending it right back to me. Free because it was still under warranty! WooHoo! Once this comes back and I get the fuel tank back together, this thing is running! I can hardly wait!
