I want to scream at my ECU
« on: March 18, 2005, 03:25:16 PM »
Well, after taking it into the shop. They said it was a dead computer. Geez, imagine that. It was the first thing I came up with as soon as I relized it wasn't the fuel pump, fuel pump relay or wiring to the pump. But, I had to go the long way around. Have a mechanic come over and tell me no spark. Geez another indication of the computer dead. He was able to jump the computer and it was happy on the codes. So I assume it was a simple problem. Well the worst problem is I had to get one asap. So the best I could find in such a short hurry today. $225.00 used from a junk yard. I'm screaming inside. I really wished I had internet at home. But my sister in law has been getting kinda worn out by driving me to work almost every night. Yes, my backup car died since it really wasn't a daily travler. This will now be 1 month of a dead sidekick. I can only assume I took the computer out while banging on the starter that refused to turn. Among other things. So tuesday I'll find out how pissed I'm if this wasn't the fix. On the other hand I have a extra computer that might just have the bad cap problem. The best thing though is for 65.00 they tested everything. I'll go in and ask what the means exactly. I'm sortof stuck at home with the kid and everybody was doing everything for me and I'm in the dark about everything. Heck I didn't even order the ECM. My sister in law did. My wife got my truck diag but was at work and didn't ask questions. Oh what a horrible day.

Later,

Josh
