What fan will work on a sidekick 1.6 rad?

Would the ford Taurus fan work??

If any others work could you tell me, I need one bad!

ford fan in awsome.  it is 5 inches thick though.  i am using it on my 4.0 powered samurai.  for a 1.6 though, probably more than you need.  cheep autozone fan should work fine.

bolt on?  you are kidding right.   it is a awsome fan, but probably not right for you.  it pulls alot of current, and requires a big relay.  search on pirate4x4 for wiring diagrams.  you will need to figure out how to mount it to a tracker radiator.  i have mine mounted to a explorer radiator, so i don't know.  it is 5 inches thick, do you have enough space, you probably do, but need to measure to make sure.  like i said, cheap autozone fan really is the best bet for you, or whatever cheap fan you can get at a local autoparts store.

On my Diesel swap. I am running 2 12 inch high CFM Vintage Air electric fans...man they move alot of air. They are also thermostat controlled. they turn on after the engine reaches 200 dgegress and turn off whe it hits 180.  Now my Radatior is significantly bigger that the stock one.  I wouldbe cautious buying a cheap one though.. You wouldnt want it to go out on you and have you motor over heat on you. I have also heard of guys rigging a on off swtich so when they are doing a water crossing they can turn them off so they dont break the fan by sumbmerging it while the blades are spinning.

well you can do what you want, but the cheap one works fine for a 1.6.  i ran it in some pretty tough conditions, the bearings finanly did wear out after 2 years of mudding.  i don't think that is to bad.  anyway, like anything else just carry a spare.  no big deal, fan is easy to replace. 

I'm just going to hard wire it to a switch.  I will just turn it on when i'm 4x4ing. 

I will take some mesuments off my 1.6L rad and see if this fan will bolt on.

You can pick up a small slimline electric fan at any parts store for around 50 bucks probably, just make sure to wire the switch through a relay.  Or spend the 20 bucks for the temp sensor that kicks it on at operating temp.  If you are going the junkyard route, fans out of a volvo are nice also, normally good sized and two speed...probably to big for a suzuki honestly, but great fans.

I used the electric fan from an A/C equiped 94 Kick and mounted it in front of the rad. Works very well and frees up lots of room between motor and rad.

it would be better to use a puller fan, but i have used pusher fans with success.
