Yes, but only the one from the front of the tracker/kick.  I did mine a few months back still looking for another one (2wd poser right now :() I used only the ring and pinion cuz I was told they have lubrcating problems, the oil pick-up isn't good enough for the demand of being in the rear + you want the steel housing at lease for the back one any ways.

When I find another front third (hopefully soon) I'm going to swap it complete aluminum housing and all, if it breaks at least I can limp home in 2wd, If you don't know how to set-up a ring and pinion (as I don't) it costs a couple of bucks to get done, so start cheap and go from there I say

 Steve :)
When this thing hits 88 MPH your gonna see some serious sh!t (hahaha)

i run vit internals in the steel casing in my sammy axle.  If you try the ally 3rd the crown wheel hits the filler plug

im running 5.13's right now, everything worked and fit fine, but you do need to use the sammi side gears, the trackick's have i think 22 splines and a much smaller axle shaft than the rear 26 spline sammi shaft

One big problem about this swap is a problem I had.  The Tracker front carrier only has 2 spider gears and I destroyed them, running in the front of my Tracker!! The Sammy rear carrier has 4 spiders, if you swap in the Tracker front diff you are going to a weaker setup.

- The sidekick aluminum front third member will bolt directly into the front of a samurai as is as long as its from an early kick. Samurais have 22 spline side gears in the front as do the early sidekick fronts. I think that later model sidekicks went to 26 spline side gears in the front. Samurai rears are all 26 spline side gears.
- Front sidekick gears come in an aluminum third housing which is prone to break with abuse (Samurais have cast steel third members)
- You can bolt the aluminum sidekick front third member in to the rear of the samurai by swapping the Samurais rear 26 spline side gears into the sidekick third. The problem here is that the aluminum thirds were never designed for a rear application and suffer from oiling issues so you may burn out the diff if you do this.
- as pointed out sidekick carriers are a 2 pin design and not as strongs as the samurai 4 pins
- for using the just the gears, only the front sidekick gears will work in sammy housings (rears won't they are bigger)
- the tracker ring gear is a little thinner than the Samurai and it has a larger inside diameter hole.
- 5.13s came in Trackers with standard transmissions and 4.62s came with the Autos. There are a few other ratios out there like 4.30 and 5.38 but they are more rare and I doubt you'll run across them.

The most common and the most bulletproof way to do regear using sidekick gears is to use only the sidekick ring and pinion gears and put them on the Samurai carriers and then install in the Samurai steel housings. To do this you need a spacer to go behind the ring gear and a can which goes over the carrier. The spacer makes the ring gear the same width as a Samurai one allowing you to get a good pattern. The can compensates for the larger inside diameter of the sidekick ring gear and keeps the cross shafts in the differential. Without the can the cross shafts will slide out.

there are kits available that i think come with the spacer, can and whatever else you may need, i'm not sure which vendors have them, but i'm sure if you look around you can find it pretty easily

Will a sidekick third member bolt right into a sammi rear axle housing?? Thanks

How do I want to answer this?
I will assume that you are asking about the earlier (22 spline) FRONT tracker/sidekick third members.

I can answer one of two ways, either.....
NO. It will not bolt right in.  Either the sidegears from the samurai needs to be swapped to the tracker third OR just the ring and pinion from the tracker needs to be swapped to the samurai third, using a can and spacer.
or
YES. The actual third member will bolt right in.  But you'll never get the samurai axle shafts into the tracker sidegears.
Take your pick.

You're best option would be to swap the front trac/kick gears into a REAR sami housing (4-pin, 4-spider gears, stronger housing), course you'll need your stock front side gears and an install kit. (Roadless Gear has them).  Unless you want to run a Newfield axel, then you'll all ready be set up for that.
THEN, for the rear you'll want a HYBRID rear housing (trac/kick center, sami axel tubes), this will allow you to bolt the rear trac/kick gears up no problems.  And again, it's a stronger set up.

Either I am reading it wrong or you typed it wrong.
What do "stock front side gears" (trac/kick or samurai) have to do with swapping trac/kick gears into the rear of a samurai????

i tried this about a 2 months ago if you take teh ally third and stick it in the axle casing the crown wheel hits the indent where teh filler is on a sammy axle and the shafts wont fit.

i am running the vit insides and swapped out the pinion.  this is the slightly weaker but it only in until i get the uprated shafts to put back my arb. this way you dont need a spacer to keep the pins in place

I have been out and given it some stick and to date not broken it?
