E Lockers, Installed (pics)
« on: March 14, 2005, 03:24:56 AM »
Hi Guys,

Thought I would share my excitement. My E lockers are now installed, and up and running. It's neat!

Here's some pictures of the box as it was being created, to control the lockers:

Now, here's where we utilized the factory FJ80 differential wiring:

Oh, and a picture of my rear shocks too:

But here's the kicker... :) Here's the in dash switches:

And here's what the lights do (this is only the front locker):

The lights will come on to tell you that the locker is locked. The switches are momentary. Push them up for a second, locked. Push them down for a second, unlocked.

I'm so excited.

I don't think anybody makes an e-locker for our Suzukis.  The closest that one could get would be an ARB. (selectable)

Nope, that's an old spare for the Durango. Guess I should throw it away now, huh.

That'd be my sloppy arse job with a butane soldiering iron (with a broadhead tip).

I had to put the wiring on the opposite side of the board from the relays because the board doesn't fit in the box squarely.

It works, but it's definately not pretty.

Oh yah, done it plenty before.

You get to learn all about circuits when you become an amatuer radio operator (HAM).  Or at least you used to have to learn about them.

Then you get to play with the electronics in your radios.  Then you get to incorporate radios into all sorts of neato circuits, like using them with computers.  You learn to and get to be able make ALL sorts of crazy stuff.

That board and wiring is super sloppy, simple yet effective.

~Nate

To build the entire thing I counted how many soldier joints I had to make.  It was 102 connections.  (51 wires)
