5.38 Ring & Pinon. How hard to find?
« on: November 30, 2005, 01:08:52 PM »
I was thinking of installing some lower gearing to offset my 31s (I have 5.12s) . I thought the 5.38  would be nice (even though 5.83s would bring me closer to the original RPM) but can't seem to find any vendors. Petroworks has some but I think those are for a Sammy. Any ideas on where to score some or any other R&Ps that would be good? Thanks.

try calling hawk suzuki parts. the 5.38's are from '91 4 door 5 spds. and are kinda rare. You could find just a rear third and buy new gears for the front (sammy ones)

I'd go with the 5:83s. I know the 12 bolt rears are unobtainable but I just swapped my rear diff for a 10 bolt one.

I'd go with the 5:83s. I know the 12 bolt rears are unobtainable but I just swapped my rear diff for a 10 bolt one.

Question 1: So does that mean the front diff uses the same gears as a sammy?

Question 2: If I wanted the 5.83 gears - My rear is a 12 bolt but I could swap in a 10 bolt third member or would I have to go with a full rear axle?

Excuse my ignorance but I am still new to the Zuki world.  :-[
