I did this exhaust setup to the X and, well it was incredible. This was on the 1.6L 16v engine.

Best performing exhaust setup on any of my cars, and I've done exhaust on about a dozen cars or so.

Not to mention, the sound, not loud or buzzy at all, defenitly has some bottom end to the sound, but not too loud at all. Sounds just perfect. My buddy Keith who did the work at Extremem Performance Exhaust here in WPG says he hasn't heard one come out the nice sounding in a long time.

Did they bend the pipe there and if so are they mandrel bent?  I spoke with an exhaust guy here in the I.E. or SoCal and he was telling me that when he bends the pipe it goes down a bit from say 2 and a quarter to maybe 2 and an eighth. So if I could get mandrel it would be better.  I was looking at classictube.com but haven't ordered anything yet.

The big question....What did it run you ...roughly

My new 2.5" exhaust is supposed to be finished tomorrow. Its aluminized and mandrel bent from the header back The Calmini exhaust that I put on about two years ago was rotting out...it was leaking at both ends of the muffler and starting to rust through at the bend over the rear axle. I hope to get some pics when I pick it up

A well designed exhaust system, doesn't suffer from not having mandrel bent piping.

These are just standard bends, standard piping, ran me about $400 Cdn including muffler and tips exhaust cat and piping, labour and install.

I couldnt be happier with the gains. Theres a reason sports bikes have horn style mufflers. I tried to design this system the same way, to keep air from popping back into the exhaust at low RPMS and creating more backpressure, while still having a small enough output at the begining for the exhaust pulses to line up, creating a scavenging effect.

I dont have the calmini header yet, but with this setup it will work perfect, further adding to the sweet sound and adding more topend, because of the 2" pipe.

I'm doing exhaust next week (well having it done), and I might try this. Although I don't think I will bother with the magnaflow tips. Or cat.

I was going to go with standard 2" chrom tips, and the installer talked me out of it, and into the Magnaflows (Stainless steel)....

IM SO glad I listened to him, they look utterly sweet and, everyone thinks the entire exhaust is SS Magnaflow

I maxed out at the moment with lift, tires and Christmas, probably shouldn't have done everything at once, but I would love to get the exhaust set up.  Hopefully I will be caught up in a couple months.

If I go cat back, California if only I could get the zuk classified as a bus, what would you recommend?  2" or 2.5"  or something in between

I just picked mine up (sorry pics will have to wait until tomorrow) First impressions are:

• awesome sound
• seat dyno says more power over 4KRPM
• very tidy installation
• did I mention the awesome sound?

Why did they make the tailpipe out of many pieces welded together?
Reason i ask is i will be installing a 2.5" system from the Y-pipe back
and want to have a 1 piece talipipe bent for it.

A friend of mine put it together, he buys the bends and straight pipes seperately and welds them together.

Ok, in that case it looks great,i could probely do that too,at work we throw out
2.5 pipes all the time,they get made up for engine proto-types and if they don't like the
design we scrap them out.
