i keep finding 95 forums not any 96 ,the only connector i find is 5 pin near the passenger head light

Ask the man who owns one...

The OBDII connector on a '96 is located around the bottom edge of the dashboard by the steering wheel column.

AutoZone will read the unit for free.

BTW, got any idea where the flasher relay is on a '96???  I think I hear it somewhere behind the ashtray in the center console... but the unit is intermittant so I can't pinpoint it and it ISN'T where any of the manuals say it should be! >:(

Aren't there two connectors, one under the dash and one in the engine compartment?
