Hey, turns out that geary noice that I was hearing the last week or so was because I hyperextended the front suspension  ;D and popped my right halfshalf out of the front diff.  :-[ Anyone know how to reseat it without taking the front ball joint apart, springs, strut etc..? I tried just pushin it in but it wouln't go, is there a special gear it has to line up with to pop back in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

all there is, is splines, kind of twist back and forth a little while pushing it in, prolly time for a new seal now also.

unfortunately I don't think its that easy, I've been wrestling with it for the past hour or so, I don't think it's going back in. kinda weird, I can pull the bloody thing out further but it just wouln't go in. It's still stickin out about a quarter of an inch. Is that normal? If I remember last time it slid all the way in. Any other ideas before I have to take the front diff apart?

Yep.  With the driver' side wheel on the ground, you should be able to push it in by jiggling the front driveshaft until the splines align - assuming the dif is not locked.  As 94track suggests, while you can get to it, replace the seal on the output of the axle housing.

Seeing your post while I was typing this one, it looks like you need to take it all apart anyway and see what's keeping the shaft from properly seating.  You may need to inspect the splines on the dif output to see if they are banged up.  My guess is that you have some debris in there or a damaged seal is keeping it from seating.

I am a bit on the anal side, so I'd take it all apart and check/replace the hub seal and the boot covers if they are damaged.  The parts are cheap but the disassembly is a PITA until you do it a couple of times.... ;)

It can be a bit awkward to get back in, it needs to be lined up to the splines in the diff and nice and square too. I had the same problem with mine last time. I left it for a bit and then came back to it and it went straight in. I would agree with Ack though, you should pull the shaft and check it for damage, if you were driving it with it half out and turning you may have damaged the splines.
