Just bought another Tracker. For the wife this time. A '97 LWB 4x4 with auto. It needs tires and I want to give it some serious snow tires. She said she doesn't want more than a 3" lift since it will be her DD but she doesn't want to get stuck either (We live in the boonies). The lift will have to wait until spring. So I was looking for the tallest tire to fit stock rims and not rub even without a lift. I came across these. What do you all think about them?

I run 7.00-15. They measure about 29.5+" in diameter. Some people don't like narrow tires, but these have good tread for mud.... They are an aggressive directional nylon belted heavy duty tire. They are probably designed for farm work, but they made a world of difference on my tracker. Also, at the present time, I have no lift of any kind and they don't rub even at full steering wheel lock.

Well I just test fitted some 7.50x16's on my swb on the weekend with only the Calmini 3" lift and they fit so going by the clearance I saw and the fact that 235/75R15 will fit stock I'd say you should be fine.

Why not just get some good 235/75R15's?  They're about that tall and for all practical intents and purposes, do not rub.  She'd have to turn them to max lock or flex the living hell out of the thing to make them rub the frame if you used the stock rims.

Mud tires + siping = excellent winter tires.

I keep telling myself the Tracker doesn't need new tires...it really doesn't...but those 205/75R15 AT's look so tiny... ...hell, it just needs to run first...

I kept 700-15s on a set of rims for winter use on my '85 Toyota.  They were great for mud and deep snow.  They were also loud on pavement.  Because they were bias ply instead of radials, they wore rather quickly.  I found them ideal for my kind of off-road use, but probably wouldn't want them for daily use on pavement.

I guess why I like them so much is because they have such aggressive side lugs, are 30" tall, are designed for a 5.5" rim, should fit without the lift and will only cost me about $70 bucks each.  Any other tire I have looked at in that price range didn't impress me. We live in a semi remote area. Our house is back on a two-track that doesn't get plowed so traction in snow is always a concern. But if they are real noisy she might complain about that when the snow is gone. Two sets of rims and tires is no fun. What to do? What to do?

Too bad I cant find a 30" tall radial designed for a narrow rim that has agressive side lugs, good road manners, never wears out, and costs $50.    Any one make a 225/85R15 or a 700R15 traction tire?

I don't really like pinching a wider tire onto a skinny 5.5" rim but I guess a 235/75R15 or 30x9.50 might be the ticket. Hmmm?

Well if you could find some 16"x6.5" rims from a Sport then you could look at a 215/85R16.

Wow, I didn't know these were still available, I have al old worn BFG 7.5x15 that I use as a spare, they look awesome

narrow tires are the only way to go, right now im on some 30 7.00/15's, and have a set of 32's and 34's ... i love em

They are made by Hercules Tire Company (Hercules Express Traction). They make tires for alot of the big name brands. They have a great price. The Cooper brand ones are almost the same (Cooper Courser Traction LT) but you pay more for the name. Here is a link to the Cooper ones.

I'm fitting these 7.50x16 for offroad use to my swb on some Sport 16"x6.5" rims with internal pneumatic beadlocks as I have all of this stuff kicking around but down the track I'll possibly swap to the Simex in the same size.
