Who owns a CALMINI ANVIL?
« on: March 09, 2005, 12:22:56 PM »
Just wondering who owns and has installed an Anvil and how you feel about it?

If it's half as good as other Calmini products it's gotta be a winner. Had the Calmini lift in my Tracker since 1994 or 1995 and honestly it's probably the only aftermarket upgrade that has been 100% problem free.............as have every other item from Bakersfield.

So who's got it and what are your thoughts?

Ive installed 2 anvils on RPM rigs. So far no problems with either one. One of those is the first one made. We are putting another one in the rockstar rig next month. Im planning on running at least 35 inch tires on it with upgraded CVs.

I've got one sitting on the garage floor at this moment.  In another couple weeks it's going in!!

Looks great and don't expect to have any problems with it.  Like Mike I will also have to come up with some CV upgrades as that's my weakest link at the moment.  I've never broken the aluminum front housing, but after upgrading the CV's I'm sure that will be the next thing to go so... ANVIL!!  ;D

I also have just about everything Calimini makes on my rig and have not had any problems with them.

I love mine and have had Zero problems out of it. The cool part is, with quality like that I'll be able to put it in the next rig I build ;)

The anvil comes with mounts, hardware, stub shaft bearings, vents, etc..... Everything needed for the HOUSING. You have to use the 3rd member housing of your choice, carrier, gears, locker, and left hand inner shaft (long side).

Love my anvil.  But I better replace the fluid in it (and my rear diff, and my tcase, and my tranny) before I hit the trail in Moab in 9 days!

I don't trust the Bastids to do it!  Plus, I have to remove my belly armor first.

I want to keep a close eye on it, too - my nose tells me something is running "hot", and maybe is low on fluid.

Cool, I've got a realy Kick Ass at home mechanic (started in his side yard and now runs out of a 5 bay shop in his side yard, talk about a high class shade tree mechanic :o) A good ol country boy that does great work for awesome prices. It is such a good deal that I shuttle Dad's vehicles to him (90 miles). Yea only 5 day to blast off ;D

Remember the carrier must be a 26 spline to match the R/H axle supplied by Calmini so if your running a 22 spline unit you'll have to dig up a 26 spline carrier and L/H axle to suit.

Yeah, I got my 26 spline long inner shaft from Hawks Strictly Suzuki...and went to a 26 spline ARB and 5.83 R&P's at the same time...
