I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what my gear ratio is? and if you could couse any problems to the tanny if you change the gears manualy from Low, 2nd,and then to Drive Like a tiptronic tranny? Insted of just leaving it in Drive. Thanx again

I think an auto is right around 4.60. And no, you won't get any benfit from shifting like a tiptronic tranny. You can only hold a gear by keeping it in that gear.

Unless somebody has changed something you should have 4.62's and I'm curious, why you would want to shift manually?

There's nothing wrong with occasional manual shifting but continuously doing it would raise tranny temps and decrease it's life in my opinion.

cool thanx!   now my second quetion is, how well do they hold up to off-roading? I also herd that there wern't any bearings in the tranny but there are bushings, and that they never wear out. is this true?? Thanx

i run a 3 speed auto  dont have the linkage to the motor for the auto shifting. so i have to manually shift all day long ,every day(havent had a problem). it will shift in to 2nd buy its self if i pour on the gas. it just wont shift in to 1st unless i manually do it. :)
