guys still have problems with power windows on my 1996 x-90. they are really slow and makeing a heck of noise. thank god there in the up postion. i think i need new window motors. i have not taken the door covers off yet.  if so i would not know how to fix them any way. i called my suzuki dealer 286.00 each for a window motor plus 125.00 labor EACH. i need both sides fixed.  the sidekick motors would not fit he said. would it be easier and cheaper just to convert them over to hand crank windows ? i dont have alot of money to spend. if i have to cut a hole in door that is ok i can patch it up with something. i need the doors to roll down.  does any one know were i could get some window motors and the other stuff that would make doors go up ? thanks. marty in IL.

MartyRD, I just bought a 1996 X90 & it too has the same slow windows on both doors. I own a service shop that only works on asian SUV's & will be checking it out in the next few days.I'll check back with an answer soon if you don't get one before then.   ;D

I would bet that some cleaning and lubrication in strategic locations would do the trick...

Also, if the X-90 is designed like every other vehicle I have ever worked on, the designers try to optimize the design for cost reduction purposes.  So, I would expect the manual window mechanism to mount to the same mounting points as the power mechanism...   ...but that is just a mechanical engineer's guess...
