Sami Lift Help (driveline)
« on: February 14, 2006, 11:32:35 AM »
I already have a SPOA lift on my Sami and running a 32" TSL.  I'm in desperate need of new leaf springs but was wondering if I got the rancho springs with the 1.5" lift built in would that mess up my driveline?  I'm already using the calmini driveshaft spacers.  Thanks for the help!

I got the spoa lift on 31's and had to use a 2 degree shim to fix the slight vibration, if you didn't have a vib before you might after the lifted springs.
The back is usually the problem ( shorter shaft = more extreme angles )
The shims are 5-15 bucks a pair ( easy fix )

When this thing hits 88 MPH your gonna see some serious sh!t (hahaha)

I've got the 1.5" lift ranchos on all 4 corners.  w/ that much lift, you're getting close to binding the stock shaft at full droop.  I put new Arizona Driveline shafts (1310 joints) in when I did my lift. As far as vibes go, I've got slight vibes from the rear driveline under hard accel in 2nd gear, no biggie.

Your diveline will be fine with 1.5" lift Rancho's. No need for big $$$ D-shafts unless you have a ton more lift than that and even then you can clearance the U-joint knuckles so that they do not touch. Bolt the Rancho's on and go wheeling!
