Seems like I have read somewhere that you could install a sidekick master cylnder in a samurai and is a direct bolt in .  I cant seem to find any links on this .  Has anyone done this?  If so, would like to know how it worked out and if it was just a simple bolt in.  I'm running Dana 44 axles with large 11" drums in back and discs up front.  I used to run drums all the way around with excellent brakes  .  After changing over to disc up front, pedal has always been soft .  So, if it is possible to use the sidekick master cylnder, I figured it is bigger and would work better.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I run 44's out of a 78 waggy disk/drum  My config is ford ranger master cyclinder to a waggy prop valve to the breaks, This stops 35's hard locks up all 4 if needed..



And yes it's a direct swap in, the only mod is to extend the push rod in the booster to get full throw to the m/c

What is a direct bolt in the sidekick, or the ranger .  I will assume the kick, which rod do you use the sammy or the kick?  Do you know if this is better than the sammy master?  Thanks for the reply.

I can tell you what I know... Sami M/C is 7/8" with 2 brakelines, the track/kick (95-96) is also 7/8" BUT has a crossover brake system (better) that has 5 brakelines, one of which goes to a modulator for the rear cylinders. What all this means is that Yes, the M/C will bolt straight in BUT you need to route 3 new brakelines and a rear modulator.... when done this system would be superior to the sami OE set-up

I don't think you need to mess around with the modulator and lines. There are two outputs for the front you could just block off one of the front outlets with a hex bolt and copper washer. If you rate the mod then maybe run the sepearte lines to the front. Not all Track/Kick master cylinders are 7/8" some are the same size as a Sammy (can't remember the exact measurement)

I have heard that some Subaru or Firebird m/cs fit the Jap models. My Vit had Lucas Girling brakes and I used a Rover master cylinder.
