Alright here I go this will porberly be the last post i get to do before you guys kick me off for such a crazy idea. I saw not to long back a 2 inch lowering kit for a sidekick from calmini. I know it was for a a 4dr or 2dr sidekick but not a sport model. First off i can't find it any where on there web site now. Second I thought if i bought it and also purchased the lower ball joints off a standerd sidekick i could bolt them up and porblem solved about the non removable ball joint the sport has. Any body know who still has the kit availble. Another problem araising from this build up is i found a place to make a exhaust manifold to house a turbo on my 1.8 only problem now is i can't find different compression ratio pistions or for that part anything other then stock parts for the internals of the engine.  Any hints or ideas were to look would be helpful.

Try calling Calmini.  Just because they don't list it doesn't mean they don't have any laying around.

Will it work?  I don't know.

Well i found a place that has the kit for 399 dollars and its not garunteed to worked. I also found just a set of coil springs that would lower it. Do you fellow zuks think  its worth it to try and modify the a arm from calmini to fit or just go the 250 dollar way with springs? Oh and thank you roach for the web site, the first to offer kits for my engine.

As many Kicks/Trackers/Sammi's Hawk has they may have a lowered one that they are parting out. Give them a call 1-888-SAMURAI. Wont hurt to try.

Lowering? Growing up we called it Pond Scumming... try using it in a sentence, it sounds more appropriate than the word lowering...

Edit: You could also do like a lowrider would and heat up the coils while on a jack and drop it down to the desired ride height...This way should you ever want to reverse the drop all you replace is the coils.

What are you going for, as far as dropping your rig?

looks, speed, or are you going to throw some switches in there? The more information the easier it would be to steer you in the right direction

I'm going more for looks and speed. I plan on dropping it two inchs and putting 18s on. I already have intake, custom exhaust and centerforce clutch and a chip. that is all i could find to put on it. I searched hi and low for a header. Calmini is starting to hate me I keep emailing them about stuff they don't have anymore or make. I'm proberly on there spam list ha ha. I also want to install a turbo.  The only reason i just don't want to buy springs and install is because of alingment. I hear the calmini kit offers a way to alingen them. They informed me the kit has been discontinued for two years now. SO the place that list them might not even have them in stock. I'm still awaiting to hear back on the in stock part.

I can tell you that the arms will fit because I fit their 3" up kit onto my Sport,  but I don't think that the alignment will be correct.  I still needed camber bolts to correct the alignment on my Escudo.  The arm length is probably different between a Sport and a 1.6L.

what did you do for the ball joints? Because the ball joints on the sport are fixed to the lower arm

Talked to a couple of my speed bump hating friends.
The best option they could come up with,

1. Beer for the headaches

2.Have a local fab shop make you some tubular control arms( takes care of your ball joints and alignment) and then taking some specs and ordering some coilovers that need least amount of work. all in all your going to need lots of beer .

The only reason I stated the coil overs is everbody there was in agreement that the stock struts and shocks on any car suck after you lower it.

ok seeing how I already lowered my tracker 4 inches i can tell u to go to thetirerack.com thats where i bought my H&R lowering springs from and the Koni rear sport shocks the springs dropped it 2 inches after they set in a year then i bought low profile tires which dropped it another 2 inches if u have the money justbagit.com sells complete air ride systems for around $2000

How did you get it to align correctly after you just put the springs in? The air ride sounds good but then on thats almost half the cost of my car, with tires i would have the same amount in my car as supension and tires. I like the way you car sits that is perfect. How is the ride now?

How to lower a Zuk...air down the tires to 15 psi before hittin' the trail. That'll do it
