Hey, thanks for all the compliments guys. FYI I'm not a big fan of diamond plate either, but it was free, so why not.  I can always paint it black later.  To be honest the shiny bumper looks out of place on my Sammy,  But it was fun to design and build.
Just for kicks here is another shot mounted.  I think I'm going to put some lights in the "ears" yet.

Aw man, you went with Claws? :( ;)

The bumper looks good... would match everything else if it was painted black, though :)

Yea, I finaly decided on the claws, I love the sidebiters and the tread is not as knarly as your LTB's, hopefuly my axles last a little longer with these.  Besides these are a "little" quieter flying down the road.  (or so I've been told)

Thanks for the compliments, it is fun seeing it all go back together.

The bumper was made from Reciever stock foolishly left in the Garage.  I haven't been able to put a dent in it yet.  ;D

It's mounted to the frame via two pieces of rectangle square stock.  This moved it forward far enough for us to mount the winch behind it.

Definately... I guess I'm not really a good salesperson, telling a prospective buyer only the pitfalls of such a tire, and that I was planning on going a lot stronger than stock to handle such tires ;)

You know what I was doing job-wise at the time, too? I was a damn CSR at an oil change place... never sold anything because I couldn't stand to see people get ripped off :P

Your rig looks great... we need more pics ;D

It has a better angle then the stock one.  Actually, that's the entire reason we built it, accidently cut part of the stock mounts off making room for the tires.  ;D

I've been suprised by what I can drive up to and climb as we built it primarily for protection and to hold the winch, not the approach angle.

It was a fairly simple build, I'll try to get better pictures online.  Here is the only two I have from the construction.

I also have a matching rear bumper.

hey kris, get some lights in your shop!  :D

I'm lookin to do bumpers soon. Tube would be nice, but the square stock looks good too.

Is square stock cheaper (or just sometun you had on hand)?

The light wasn't installed on that side of the shop until a month later.  ;D

I think square is cheaper, but we just had it laying around.  Provided we get some decent light this Saturday I'll take a group of pictures so you can see how it's put together.  One advantage of the square stock is you have plenty of places to put your high-lift on.

Wild:  Hmmm, I may just have to take that name then.  Snowplow... has a nice ring to it.  ;D

That's a good idea for a replacement bumper.  :)

I took a bunch of pictures of the bumpers, then lost the camera in a stream when I fell off the bridge.  ;D
