1989-1998 Wheels
« on: May 07, 2006, 11:23:52 PM »
Is it true that all the 1ST GENERATION OEM Sidekick wheels are interchangeable on model years 1989-1998? I was wondering if I could put 2002 OEM Vitara wheels on a 1990?

Well actually.I beleive the newer ones (GVs) are running 16"inch wheels.

They're 16s to fit over bigger calipers.
i've heard people complaining that they can't find 15s for their GV on the GV board (here)

But then again. I could be wrong. I was thinking newer GVs (99 and up)

yea, 99 and up are 16's and really hard to fit 15's on. only 1 person I know of on here did it and I think he needed wheel spacers and had to shave down the brake caliper because where the wheel sits against the brake rotor is only about an 8th of an inch beyond the part that the caliper grips... I don't think just any 16 that's the same offset and 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern fits a GV either because of the wierdness there... I do believe the non-grand vitaras that are 2nd gen have an offset that sits closer to the vehicle and more than likely smaller brake calipers

but yea, you can probably fit any suzuki rim on a 1st gen kick/vitara/escudo/tracker

man these things have allot of names
2000 Grand Vitara.. boondox coil spacer lift w/ pro comp 2 inch lift shocks and ome struts. 225/75 R16 Kumho Mt's, powdercoated wheels, rear brake line relocation and stuff to acomodate. custom exhaust and intake along with some 1 off accesories.

Well its good to know I can add a nice set of factory Suzuki wheels to my Hardtop, which will most likely be a 1990-1992. If 1998 is the last year of the 15's then I will try and find a set from a wrecker, will look good :-* Just like Jeep's, can interchange wheels between most models and years. Its great.
