Oh yeah, I forgot to answer the question :-/  I carry  air tools.  I know it's not wierd, but you get a lot of looks when I pull out the impact gun to get a tire off on the trail ;)

This is one the reasons to have a high lift jack.  Besides lifting your rig, they work as a slide hammer.

PLEASE tell me you don't do this!
If you just pick your tent spot wisely, you don't have to cut scars on the land, that last for years.

I only dig trenches when camping & shooting on our own family's private land.  I don't do it when on other people's land, or when I'm in a state or national park or something.  It DOES make the land look bad if you don't know how to replace & repair the soil to its original condition.

Also, please don't tell me you're one of those ultra picky 'carry your feces out in a baggy rather than burying it' kind of campers.   :o

Maybe if more people were the "'carry your feces out in a baggy rather than burying it' kind of campers." the con wouldnt be about to close.

AS for the weirdest tool? hmmm I guess it would be my creeper mat thingy. Think of the matts in elementry school. They sell them at autozone. Its kinda pansy but everyone always wants to use it. I mean who wants to lay in the mud?

I'd never thought of that either ... slide hammer might stay at home in the future!

Scars, Scars!...It's DIRT man! Don't you make ruts when you wheel in it?

Anyway, I carry an extra starter and plan on an extra alternator and battery this summer too, but those aren't tools, so I'm just an AutoZone on wheels.

Oh, except for the biggest sledge you can cram in my Zuk 8)

Well, in SOME places, it's the right thing to do (like the 'Con, I guess).  But most of the places I go, there's no problem with burying your poop - or smearing it (yeah, that's what they're pushing these days, if I recall correctly)...

OK I thought of one crazier than the Duct tape. I like to bring along these big bulky things called Jeeps. They work realy well when you are traveling along a fairly easy trail. All you have to di is hook onto them and drag them along the trail making it more challanging to you ;D

The Rubicon Trail. It has had sections of it shut down due to human crap along the trail making it un sanitary. The crazy part is there are Dairy farms EVERY WHERE with 1000 of cows craping and peeing on the ground, in the streams etc.... but the eco freaks dont bitch about that :-/

I have used a Jeep Grand Cherokee as a winch anchor!  A friend patched a hole in the Oil Pan of his Volkswagen Bus, with a beer can, and RTV (Silicone Rubber).  He never got around to getting a new oil pan.  I carry an assortment of nylon cable-ties - they're handy for holding stuff together.  I have heard of people carrying unlubricated condoms in their first aid kits, for waterproofing finger bandages.  I also carry saline solution and an empty contact-lens case, for those who wear contacts.

True, but most Dairy Farms aren't built on top of Slickrock next to a popular trail.  ;D

The main barns at Dairy Farms are usually scraped into lagoons where it is eventually pumped out for fertilizer.  They are doing some fun things with using the methane from the manure to run co-gen plants though.

I just sleep in the drivers seat.... Thats actually not a joke. ;)As for tools, most people find it odd what I dont carry. All my tools are 10,12,14,and 17mm. Anytime I replace something I make sure its one of those sizes. Im all about the less is more plan. ;)
