The Calmini gears do not effect your 2WD speeds.

Thats actually not entirely true. The Calmini t case gears do not effect the high range. If you have a twin stick you can shift into 2 low. The tracker case does not allow you to disengage the rear, even with a twin stick.

Oh..... really?  Then what is the point of having the twin stick?  Why would it be better than just, say, the RRO kit that alters the shift pattern of the single selector?

oh, bummer, it would be cool if the twin stick did give that much selectability. on old army jeeps I heard they have twin stick and can disengage the rear or front. that means if you break spider gears or something in the back and you can still roll on that axle you can just put it in front wheel drive and get home

It allows you to select the range and drive you
want without going through the whole pattern

I like the idea of the twin stick way better than the question mark pattern that the single stick gives. Being able to disengage the rear would be nice but I can live without that.

So....... anyone going to jump in here with a price?  ??? ;D

If you are getting gears, then it would be silly to not spend another 100 bucks or so and get either the twin stick, or RRO's  2 wheel low kit.

Yeah, I was hoping there was a way to make it a true twin stick, but I have never even seen the inside of the tracker case... yet...  So I just assumed.. lol... I know better than to assume.. I thought.

Anyway, yesh, it would be nice to not have to shift through the whole pattern.. and the twin stick definitely has a cool factor all to it's self.

One way or the other, when I do a clutch, or gears, or for some other reason I have the tranny/case out, I will do one or the other mod for sure.   ESPECIALLY with the front locker that is going in soon. It will be invaluable to be able to run it in 2wd low then.. avoiding accidental breakage, and wear and tear on the fragile aluminum front componants.

For Sammy maybe, but not for Kicks, unless they just came out with it.
