I got a decent deal on some Good Year Wrangler Silent Armors - 31x10.50s that I was going to put on a set of 15x7 w/2.5" backspace.

Anyone ever try these out?  I live in Sask, Canada and we can be driving on ice for a couple months so I wasn't sure how well a more agressive tire would pan out since this is my year round DD.   

I wasn't sure how an mt tire would handle in the ice and snow but I still hoped these SA's would give some bite off road too....

I ordered up a 2.5"RRO lift and am putting on a home made 3"BL

Those are the tires, supposed to be great in the winter

I guess my other option is to try find the biggest set of winter tires that will fit on my stock sidekick aluminum rims.

imho those are going to be great tires for a year round DD, and if you run a 2.5 " off set, that might be a little to much for daily driving, if you run about a 3.75" off set, they should just stick out the fenders a little, that way you wont get buged by the cops.

i run a 15x7 with a 3.75 off set, and 30" tires, and they are flush with the edge of the fender, maybe stick out about 3/8"  i have lots of room between the tire and the frame at full lock, about .5"

when i had 235/75/15 tires on the exact same rims you have, they rubbed at full lock.

another good tire for winter is the BFG A/T TA's and something simular is the general grabber at2, but its alot cheaper.

Those silent armours are supposed to be the really good road tires

As for actual mudding... or even rock crawling, I just don't think there is enough rubber nor lugs to be a real contender

If I had a work truck, those would go on there for sure, for simple construction sites, ice and snow those are great tires... they are basically the new version of the goodyear AT/S with the durawall silica technology
