and you need the hagen widening right?  And is the 300 usd shipped or not shipped.  What year and model of yota cv's do you need?  Did you have any troubles blowing stock sidekick cv's with the front locker before you switch to the yotas?  im only running 31's maybe 32's soon and i don't do rocks, do you think this is really needed or should i just get the locker for the front, drive around, if i blow up a cv then buy the yota cv kit?

i beleive the year range is 87-95 the kit is $300+shipping.i put the lockers in when i switched to toy cv's becuase i was also puting in 5.62 gears.i say try it with the stockers if they hold up
then why upgrade.i was blowing axles before i was locked and had 5.62gears >:D

Ooops, my bad. I do know that it is a modified suzuki carrier with a lockrite type locker inside. Its already set up and ready to go, thats what I like. I have the ability to machine the sami housing and all that but I would still buy the tt locker just for the time savings. Its definately priced right.

yea, i have't been able to break any front end stuff yet so i think i will get the locker and if i break then i will switch to yotas

were do you get these kits do you get with stan personally or can you order from some where. are these axles a lot bigger then the zukis. i blow out spiders gears and only broke one axle on a short lift with 33" tires on an open dif. my locked diff thats welded hasn't broken an axle yet two years same axles. we ride in ky. natural bridge area most call slade.

Stan builds them in his shop. They are not outsourced. Yes the axles are almost twice the size. Just to be clear on this the axles are not supplied. They are stock IFS toyota 87-95.The kit is what to need to make them fit. The kit is meant to be overkill so the "weak" link is still the cv, a part that most can buy from a salvage yard for less than $50. Toyota CVs are a huge strenght improvement over stock cvs. Our whole offroad club (at least the ones running trackicks) has gone to them now.

Adding a locker would stop the spider gear blowouts, as would some right foot control. ;)

How do these front lockers work on the street? Do they ratchet like rear lockers when turning?

i don't belive you can run the locker on the street.  If the hubs are unlocked it is just like a open diff,,, but once you lock the hubs in, your not going to be able to turn.  ::)

What i want to know is if your in two wheel drive on the street can you notice any difference with the locker in the front. The 4 wheel would only be needed off road.

In two wheel drive, you won't notice them at all... since your hubs will be unlocked
you can WELD your front end, and not notice it in 2 wheel drive.

...Only if you are VERY CAREFUL in your driving habits making SURE that you don't accidently lock the hubs while backing up.

Auto hubs are not a good thing to have on a truck that you plan to wheel.

for more info (including a Susuki TSB document on the subject) do a search for hubs at Ack's FAQ.  The link is in my signature.

You can swap out your autos for manuals from a salvage yard easily and cheaply.
