I'm tempted to get something done, but it's like this.
2 sets of 5.83 gears is $600,
4.24 tcase is $650.
R&p will definately give better high range driveability, and driveline life expectancy. I ruined my front diff housing in a quagmire trying to apply full power to the front wheels only, the 583 gearde front would have lived because it was the pinion that pulled the housing apart. Maning, the torque inside the case is multiplied, not the torque going in.
Tcase is just infinitely better idea when wheeling, you can creep along at super low speeds, not have to feather the clutch on trails, no more bogging going up a steep hill. But twice the torque breaks twice the parts.
