85 samurai 1.3L i would like a bigger engine and it seems to be sounding like putting a 1.6 in to from a tracker?? how hard is it to do and what kind of mods do you have to do. eg. electrical, vacuum lines etc.

easiest way to do it is to find an actual donor vehicle i got a rolled tracker with 130,000 on it for 250 bucks on ebay everything still worked in it too. I ended up using a lot of parts from it also.

At the very least try and get all the 1.6 bits and pieces, dizzy,  starter motor etc.. I am using all 1.3 parts on a 1.6 engine and not much fits without a little modification here and there. If you're not running a lift and extended bump stops you will need to modify the sump and oil pickup. If you run EFI then a few bucks spent at trail Tough will make life a lot easier. Here in the UK we had a carb 1.6 which makes life simpler.
