Goals (in order of priority):* Reliability
* Maintain daily driveability
* Rubicon Ready
* Have to throw in - spend as little as possible
Ways I can think to accomplish goals: (please note these are my opinions from reading these threads, and I'm open to what everyone has to recommend)
Recovery & safety equipment (Winch - have 9000i warn already, high lift jack, CB, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, basic tools, maybe on-board welder)
31" MT tires
That aren't
too loud for Daily Driving
Much bigger seems to make them daily drive poorly, cause more breakage, and gets
exponentially more expensive?
Lift / cut / backspace wheels to accommodate 31" tires
Want any lift to add more articulation. So longer springs / shocks / struts - prefer to avoid
spacers, and won't do a body lift unless absolutely necessary.
Body armor
Rocker panels
Front bumper w/ 2" receiver & d-rings
Rear bumper w/ 2" receiver & d-rings
Front skid plate
Gas tank skid plate
Pumpkin caps & axle shaft armor? Can this be done on kicks?
Dual t-cases (as this seems to be the only way to lower high range in my 5 speed?) with stock
t-case gearing. And / Or add a turbo to counteract the power taken away from 31" tires and
added weight of armor.
I'll be making custom front and rear (with tire swing-away) bumpers, so not sure the weight yet. I'm doing my best to engineer them to be light, but still protect the kick. They'll have 2" receiver so I can pull the winch in my apartment (stuff gets stolen here

) when not needed... and so I can run the winch off the back if I have to. I'll be getting nylon rope, so hopefully the winch will be lighter and only sag the front / back an extra inch or so when it's on?
So, from what I gather, I'll need 2-3" of lift... so... what do you all think?
