Diff Drop Bracket

Finally got around to making my diff drop bracket

2 pieces of 1/4" plate cut to suit
1 piece of 2x2 square tube with 1/8" wall thickness cut 1.25"

Drill 4 - 7/16" holes in each 1/4" plate to allow mounting to diff and A-arm.

Using a hole saw drill a 1.5" hole in the center of both 1/4" plates to allow clearance for bolt on A-arm and water drainage on the diff side.

Weld together

Overall length of bracket is 1.75" which allows stock bolts to still fit between the 1/4" plates when mounting to the diff.

I used 4-3/8" coarse bolts that were 1.5" in length with a flat washer and lock washer to bolt to the A-arm.

I'll tell ya, if someone did make these, they could make an easy $50 a pop, since they're not available for sale anywhere at the moment.

I'll make it on Sunday, if you're happy with it I can make more for others if needed. I'll include the hardware for bolting it in so that it's al ready to go when you get it.

I agree, I just locked the rear end using spider gears, actually my friend did the locking, works mint at no cost but time. A lockrite to my door is about 450 Canadian. :o

Hey Museboy
 Here's your 3" diff drop bracket, I sprayed it with bed liner spray, can't gaurantee the paint job but the steel work should be fine. Abuse the hell out of it and let me know how it stands up.
I'll ship it tomorrow.

SWEET!!!!  From the second picture it looked alot larger then 3in and i got worried...but then i looked at the pic with the tape measure up against it and i was like HELL YAA!!  You dont know how much i appreciate this!!

No Problem man, I'll pick up the hardware tomorrow and ship it. I already bolted it onto a worn out diff and spare a-arm on the bench and it all fits fine so you should be good to go. Just use your original bolts to bolt it to the diff and the new grade 8 bolts, nuts, flat washer and lock washers to connect it to the A-arm.
 I really would like you to abuse it to see how it holds up, I can always use 3/8" plate and a heavier wall tubing  if there are any problems, but I don't think there will be. I contemplated putting a few gussets in on yours since it was 3" but that makes it more difficult for wrenching later on, lets just see how it performs like this.

I thought it would also need to be mounted forward a little bit to help with the pinion angle??

Guess we'll find out when he bolts it in, if it needs to be corrected it won't be a problem to make another one with the necessary changes.

Good so far, but mines much shorter then yours, I Think Mike was worried about the angles due to length. If yiu need it changed then I'll just another one for you.
