Had a search around and wanted to try and nail this question if i can.

question,
X90 running 4:62 diff ratios manual gearbox 4wd 1.6L
31.10.50s for example

track/uk vit/kick running 5:12 manual gearbox 4wd 1.6
31.10.50 for example

To me there must be a difference somewhere in the drive train for what should be a simular truck about from the diff ratios.

Has the X90 or Suzuki running 4.62 diff ratios have a slightly lower range in either the gearbox or T case?

If this is the case which one as it would make a nice mod to switch over and grab a little lower gearing ?

History:   only thing i found out is the T case is the same seems some differences in an auto as more torque produced,  

Anyone know, tried tested??

I think the only reason a manual x90 woulda got 4.62 from the factory would be to get a higher top speed.

an auto tranny trucklet got 4.62's since a slushbox essentially trades some rwhp for torque.

In OZ both the manual and the auto got 4.875 diff ratios.

the X-90 came with smaller tires

maybe down to weight as i suppose the x90 doesnt weigh as much as a kick

X90 is lighter, more aerodynamic and has the 16V engine so it can run higher gearing. I've always been a little surprised that the 8V Track/Kick and the 16V have the same gearing, the 16V has around 20% more power. I don't know whether the 8V is geared too high (mine always seemed like it), the 16V is too low or a bit of both.

My 16v likes the 29 inch tires I intalled.  It seems to have corrected the overgearing.

will switching to sammy t-case help? m not really familiar with sammy t-case gearing but i know that sammy's high range is lower than track's 1:1 ratio.
