fender clearance

i'm workin on gettin my trak trail worthy and i'm havin trouble with the fenders clearin when flexed

cutting wheel might give you a little more finesse. be sure to tape off the area first so that you at least have a clue where you will be cutting.

and I bet you used a sawzall there drone :P

HVAC tin snips ~ They are like kindergarden siccors for Track Kick owners.

BUt you need the good name brand ones.  Pawn shops have them used / cheap, but check the jaws for paly and abuse to the cutting edge.

Red for right hand / turn
Green for left hand / turn
Yellow for straight cut

Best, most accurate fender metal cutting fab tool out their.

We had plenty of finesse when cutting.  Heck, it even looked nice and straight for the first time I used it.

Then it kind of went downhill...  :D

I have trimmed a bunch of my buddies fenders for them.
I started using a cutoff wheel, then tried using a little air saw. It worked pretty good, some of the thick on my buddies XJ were a little  tough but it was doubled up sheetmetal.  So im sure these little saws would work great on the sami's and sidekicks.

I used an angle grinder with cuttoff wheel.  I didn't chop the top of my fenders though so most of my work was straight lines.  I just widened the bottom front and rear for steering clearance.  Then I used angle aluminum and riveted to the cut pieces of fender so I still had lip to rivet my fender flares to and so I could reuse the original plastic dust shield that goes along the inside.

Did it late last year when I had to buy a new set of tires.  I actually decided to say with the 33's, I don't break that much anyway and rarely found something I couldn't climb over with the BFG's.  Now I just need to clean up and paint the rest of the rig...

Hey Big  this was my first attempt with a sawsall and a cutting wheel

Not to much finesse lol...   the cutting wheel seemed a little easier I used a 4" grinder with a worn out metal cutoff saw blade
