Can suspension be softened?
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:24:29 AM »
Is there a way to soften the suspension on an 01 Tracker.  It seems to bounce around more than my 90 does.  Would the springs or shocks need to be softer to soften up the ride?

Did you check the tire pressure?

Look on the drivers door pillar. I'm running 23 PSI right now.

More PSI = harsh ride. Zuks are very sensitive to tire air pressure.

Agreed!  Pre-99 are supposed to run 23psi in the stock tires.  I have 215/75/15's on mine and with 23 psi the thing wallowed around.  Bumped up to 28 and it rode very stiff.  Dropped it to 25 and it's perfect!  ;D

If I air the tires below 32 on my Sammy it feels like I'm dragging a parachute behind me. So I just put up with the ride. :)

I would say a safe pressure to run your tires at is around 50psi.

My X-90 is at 28 with the street tires on it and my Kick's 33 MTR get ran at 18-20 on road and 5-8 off road.

How about adding some weight,
a winch and some extras will help
