erratic steering
« on: February 17, 2008, 04:50:28 PM »
I have P/s on my tracker, but it's weird. Sometimes it works ok, but it also sometimes like I have manual steering, no power at all. The system was low, but I filled it back up, but still the same. It normally does it when I'm not moving or going very slow, like manual steering. Suggestions?

Mine gets a little harder when I'm slowing and pulling into a parking lot - but not THAT much harder.

Pressure regulating valve stuck? Make sure the lines aren't kinked. I'm thinking a power steering flush may help but you may need to replace the pump or gear which ever has the pressure regulating valve.(designed to give the same hydrolic force at low and high engine RPM)

That sounds like the problem. Lines are fine. Thanks

Sounds like the same problems I'm having only left is worse than right. And I just installed it so fluid is new.
