I put a steel diff in the front with a locker, in the rear I'm gonna do a spool. I've driven welded rears on the street and found it manageable. As far as the locker in the front, I think mines a "Detroit" or "Eaton", I don't remember, they're the same. I would'nt wheel seriosly without it. Lock the hubs and you loose turning radius, engage 4WD and turns get real tough. In the woods I engage and disengage constantly getting around trees, with the rear spooled I'll do this less.
