I have a Plan for a SAS Tracker but need info on Sammie Sprung kits. The only one I've found is RROs.

My plan (as for I'm no Fabracater) is Maybe buy a Kit for a Sammie and convert it for Tracker usage.
Being if I bought 16 Heim Joints, I hear they run around 50 bucks each = 800 bucks.
Coil kits ran 1200 bucks.
Sell old lift and such. 1500 bucks back (in Theory)
(ARB Lockers, gears, lift, GV axle. and what not)

i contacted calmini about that and the tech guy said it would be more cost efeective to build my own, because it would have to be modified so much. the frames are very differnt in size and wieght.

This thought also occurred to me (or was suggested by another Zukiworld-er , hard to seperate the two sometimes ), but I figure that the RRO kit has bushings and not heims, it'd be cheaper (and more fun/interesting) for me to fabricate something on my own, but use NC_ZUK and other coil-sprung sammy pics as a guide

I like the Idea of Hiem joints for more flex, longer life and adjustablity.
But I'll see what TraiTough has to hopefully offer. They may need a tester

I was looking around at some of the parts that my dad had laying around for our tractor's 3-point hitch, and the ends look just like (are) heim joints, and I know for sure that they aren't 50 bones a piece... but I still will probably go for bushings in mine since I don't need super amounts of flex and will probably take mine apart on multiple occasions anyway

Ok, my turn! I think that the RRO kit or Shaffers off-road coil kit could be modded for a kick. The most difficult part (not really difficult) would be fabbing resting points for the front coils. Sounds very tempting!!

Heims vs Johnny joints. The bushings you guys are reffering to on the RRO kit aren't just rubber bushings. They are Johnny Joints. These are rebuildable joints that really flex/move well.I like them a lot and trust me, they cost a good bit more than a rod end. My thoughts are this. If you are gonna run your rig on the road the bushings are the way to go as they will soak up some of the axle/tire/road vibrations whereas the rod ends are metal and will transfer the vibes into the body it self due to metal on metal contact

Just thinking about your rig. wheres this "Shaffers off-road coil kit"?  I've Em'ed  RRO about their kit and checked the possiblity of it being adapted to a Kick.
I'm not in a really big hurry but the sooner the better

Shaffers is actually the original manufacturer of the Coil kit for Sammis. They used to make them, RRO used to sell them. Something happened business wise and Shaffers quit making the Kit. RRO made some changes and began to manufacturer their own kit. It has changed a lot over the past 2 years for the better.

Last summer Shaffers decided to get back into the market. They have a really nice setup out as well. It is a bit more modern but I don't assume that it performs any better since it is limited by the same ciol spring. Anyways you can see the Shaffer stuff at the link below. Hope this helps you out!

i'll have to stop you their.  Heim joints will ware out quicker than a lets say Currie Jonny Joint.  but i would just get a whole bunch of the onces the are in the lower control arms of trackers and use them as joints
