use to clean carpets for work. If you use a water base cleaner on oil it will get some out, but the rest will set, and you can never get it out. Dry cleaning fluid (I use laquer thinner) will get it all out, but you have to dab it with clean rags, don't scrub. You should try a test patch first to see if the cleaner melts the carpet. Of course use some soap after the oil is out. If you take it out of the vehicle you can car wash it after using the thinner.
