I had a similar experience...was rippin' around the farm yard and it just stopped. If I poured gas down the TB it would run. After messing with a ton of stuff, figured out the injector wasn't firing because a capacitor in the computer puked out its contents and melted the tracing in the board. It was a 60 cent fix to solder in a new capacitor. Not hard if you understand basic electronics.
You can visually check to see if that happened by pulling the computer and examining the larger cylindrical shaped component on the corner of the computer board. If it looks like some stuff has leaked out...that is probably the problem, or will be soon.
These are a common failure on the older Trackers. Mine is a 91 as well.
Of course with all things automotive, there are a variety of different things that could go wrong. This just sounds like the most probable.
If it was a fuel delivery problem like pump filter, injector, I imagine it would have run intermittent or real crappy before it finally stopped.
Good luck!
