t-case gear noise?

t-case gear noise?

i have an 87 sami   6.5 gears  I've put about 3000 miles on them took it to the coast this weekend on the way home the gears started the wine   checked gear lube level is full.

do the gears get louder as they wear in?
87sami 32" bfg mt 6.5:1 w/reverse S shifter  1.6 16v sold and missed

If lowrange is where you got the gears, you probably have Trail Gear 6.5's.

The Trail Gear 6.5's seem to be a loud gear set.  I added some Lucas to mine and it quieted them down.

I used the heavy duty oil stabilizer.  Before you go to add this stuff to your rig, I would suggest warming the hell out of the oil.  The stuff is so thick, its hard to get out of the bottle.  Especially  if your laying under your rig trying to squeeze it into your tranny or T-case.

So far i haven't found a pump that will handle Lucas.

Amilla, how much Lucas do you use? In your tcase.

Did you rebuild your T-case when you installed the gears? Or are they they stock bearings?
That's no good to see that they took a dump like that.  Did you talk to trail gear yet?

i reused the bearings  yes i was cheep!:(                I talked to sean at low range he said box them up and send then in he will send me a new set  so i need to order new bearings like i should have done in the first time                       live and learn    lol

Bummer to see the gears went south like that.
Its got to be nice that your getting a new set thou.  Just rebuild that bad boy and never look back ;D
