need help with brakes??? firebird MC conversion
« on: September 21, 2009, 07:40:56 PM »
so i am finishing up my toyota axle swap and have a problem i dont quite understand. I Installed a early 80s firebird master cylinder to increase my braking volume as i am running 4 wheel discs on the yota axles (btw this is on a samurai), so anyways bleed through everything fine and have a very stiff pedal but very little for brakes. The pedal seems almost too stiff ive never had this problem before.

any ideas?

Are all the calipers free and the wheels rotating correctly, if so then the m/c is too big.

i never messed with the brake booster the just unbolted the stock sammy M/C and bolted on the flaming chicken one. the seal between the M/C and the booster does not seal the greatest could that be the problem.

have a look and make sure your caliper sliders slide, a guy over on the grand vitara forum had the same problem, it ended up being both his caliper sliders where solid lol
