i dont really understand the jeep people ego and social attitude towards "shitzuki".   i think that i have more fun riding in my zuk then jeeps , i get better mpg, and  i paid less for my stock zuk in great condition than a broken down jeep frame from any wrecker.   i told some people about the mods im doing and they are saying ,,,,why waste your time just buy a jeep,ect....

just wondering if you all have similar experiences.

I don't get the whole "my brand (or model) is better than yours" attitude.

I've owned several brands, sizes, and styles of 4x4 and I've never had one I didn't like.  They all have pros and cons and each has a particular situation where it is the "best".

The same with motorcycles.

I don't care what you drive or ride.  I just care what I drive or ride.  And depending on what it is I want to do, I'll take the appropriate vehicle.

As far as "jeep people" go, Suzuki people do it too (and Ford people and Chevy people and Harley people and...).  In most cases, it is just a small percentage that does it but it happens.  We all want to belong to a group and bad mouthing another group makes some people feel better about themselves.

I sold my 98 TJ to get away from the "Jeep Thing"

I went into a shop and told the guy that I wanted to do a 2 inch lift and 31 inch tires.  He said, "you want at least a four inch lift and 33's or 35's."  I didn't buy a thing from him and I won't.

I thought about doing a window banner that says Oh but I do understand.

It might be funny!

advertisement does wonders for a product there are a lot of close minded people out there and even more that don't have a clue. once people open there eyes and look at the reputation of suzuki and quit compalaining about there over priced rigs they will realize that there more options than heep.

Aww come on guys...ya mean if some one was willing to give you a new Rubicon, ya wouldn't take it?

I agree with Jonald.  There have been some great 4x4s made over the years.  And if I had the money and space, I'd have a bunch of em.

I would dearly love to have my EB back...but for today's $ the sammy will have to do.

As far as "jeep people" go, Suzuki people do it too
.

A-men, Jonald.... I've whitnessed (and maybe been a part of) several Jeep bashing sessions.  ;) The part I don't understand is when the Samurai guys start ripping on the Sidekick drivers. Is it the trickle down theory? I mean the Samurai driver just got snubbed by a Jeep/EB guy so they turn around and do that to a Sidekick driver? I don't get it...

YMMV -Eric

I would trade it in a heart beat for a 99 or 00 2-door Vitara and mod the hell out of it with any left over cash.  I have respect for Jeep, but I'm not a Jeep guy.  I want to be different from the pack.  And people take notice too, I think I influence other people to look at Suzuki.  I always get compliments on my ride all the time, and it's plain stock.

So true. I've seen about 2 or 3 modified Trackicks up here... The unique factor was part of what I was after when I bought a Tracker to modify ;D

Amen brother.

I don't have a problem with Jeeps, they are pretty capable vehicles. I just like razzing the Jeep guys because they get all worked up.  :P

One of the reasons I love my Tracker is because it is differant. There are only a few lifted trackers on the island that I know of (Mac, Biker, and Myself) And there are countless Jeeps

Everytime I drive through town I always see a bunch of people turning their heads to get a look at the truck.

It feels good to be differant.

There's a guy that I work with that mudds with us and has a Heep.  It came in on trade at the dealership we work at for the right $$ so he got it.  Sure he paid more money for a heavier, less capable truck that's more expensive to repair or modify, but that's what he got.  He likes it and has fun with it.  No hostility(some ridicule).  I rode in his Heep before I had my Sammi, and he's got the open invitation to ride in my Zuk since his Heep is sidelined and ready to recieve a 305.  I don't like the Jeep guys with the show n' shine rigs that look at my Zuk like cheap imitation.  I use mine man!!

And  >:(DoctorD >:( It sounds like you only have a Zuk because you couldn't afford a Heep.  And, you'd rather have a Heep and get rid of your Zuk.  That's less than cool.

I totally agree.  There are several people in my town that have Wranglers/Cherokees/Libertys/Xterras and never mud or take them off road, but they look at the badly camoed Sammy like it couldn't possibly hang withem.
