cheap JVC CD player - $99+tax installed
brand new soft top - $300+  :o

the soft top on my tracker is worth more than the contents inside.  i never lock it, i can't afford to buy a new top right now so i'd prefer to keep it simple if they feel compelled to break in.  the stereo is a removable face and that comes in the house with me....so r4eally not much in there to steal.

i was lucky i found a sling pack at Old Navy for 6 bucks and i throw everything in it when i go places, so nothing is ever left in of any value.

I never lock my doors. In fact the other day I greased the locks up so they would work again (not cause I am gonna use them but it was another thing to fix and I like fixing things) I don't lock them because if a theif wants in all he needs is a knife or the ability to use a zipper, so no point. As for the temptation of people to open the door up and look around, they way I look at it, if they steal anything from MY Tracker, they're just cleaning it for me.

Nope, not worth getting the top knifed by some dumbass who is too lazy to pop the snaps off to get in.  I also have a detachable face Sony HU so I can at least take it with me.  Only thing of value inside the truck is the hi-lift jack, and it's bolted down behind the rear seat, so it's a PITA to get out anyways.

Heck, I leave the key in the ignition all the time so why lock it. No, it doesn't work and serves no purpose in starting the vehicle ;) I just laugh when I think about someone stealing my Sammi. Good luck!! ;)

Oh, I have no radio but my son wants me to get one so that I can listen to it at stoplights. The Boggers are way to loud to hear anything unless it's sitting at a light ;D

If you don't lock it, even with top down, how do you keep the Jeep guys out?

Guess I will have to get a big stick.

My '91 Sami has the hole and lock on the gate. Don't know if it works. As a youngster, I had a ragtop. Thieves used a knife on my new top to get in.

I mounted an ammo box under the hood, between the master cylinder and fender. It is water tight and lockable. I use it for the emergency tools and related.

Oh yea. I now carry a big stick to keep the Jeep guys out.

You guys put your tops on???  My doors don't lock,  but the gate does though, go figure.  The only thing worth stealing is my police siren/PA but that would take an hour to get out.  I don't like to leave her alone too long though.  You're right about those Jeep guys!! :D  I would recommend a lock box for off and on road security.  Are you partial to your back seat?  If not just pull it out and bolt in a nice box.  I'm partial to diamond plate 8), but your creativity is free here.............Uuuuhhhh, did I just sound like the Martha Stewart of Zuks there? ???

I don't smoke so I used to stick loose change in my ashtray and leave doors unlocked. Two weeks ago someone took the whole ashtray, there was about 2 bucks in it, I just wish they would have left the ashtray!!!!!! I wouldn't suggest locking anything in your glove box because I think that would be an easy break open and you would be looking for a new glove box. There is a site I found called morris4x4jeepparts.com (I think that is right) that sells lock boxes for Trackers and 'Kicks  that go either on the armrest in the backseat and another lock box that goes behind the seat. I believe they get bolted in and look pretty handy. Besides if you lock your doors, won't someone just take a knife to the top???
