I had the same problem, turned out to be worn shifter
dogs in the front of the t-case due to low oil level  :(

I saw the damage when I installed the low range gears
but I also had another case so I used the parts from that

I had an issue with slightly tweaked t-case mounts allowing the shifter to hit the body.  Pull your rubber cover off and see what the clearance is like.  Nothing like jumping to neutral while climbing some rocks.  :D

Also check the shifter sheet.  It is a pretty cheap part to replace so one of the best things to swap out if you haven't done it before.

Hi every one, thanks guy's,Wild, what do you wean by dogs? My shifter looks ok,cant see any particular wear.
Hi Drone, well, the shifter does'nt touch the body, but I find the big boot inside the cab very stiff, seems to pull on the lever
a little, what about the spring on top of the ball of the shift rod,I checked it it's not broken but maybe find a little stronger
spring, would make it harder to move out of gear.I will get a new shifter sheet and try it out.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Do you have a body lift by chance?

The dogs are the parts that lock the gears to the shaft, shifting
you into 4 low or 2 high

Mine did this after the body lift.  I bent my shifter, turned the boot around, and considered trimming a little (1/4 inch) from the bottom of my shift knob.  Never had to trim the shift knob though.

Hi,I have no body lift on my kick,I'm pretty sure the internals of the case are not worn out, every thing looked fine when I did
the 4.24 low mod...but then again.
Yes maybe try to bend the shift lever a little bit and I'll order a shifter sheet and see what happens.

Thanks dudes,I'm open to suggestions

If you don't have the good and worn parts side by side
you really will not notice that the one is bad
