Mods to make Samurai zombie-proof
« on: May 21, 2011, 02:20:03 PM »
Just for fun... What mods would you make to your Samurai that would afford the most safety/lethality in case of a zombie outbreak?

I'd think maybe twin side mounted machine guns for rear passengers to use, with the option of rear ejector seat, should your passengers become infected. Obviously you'd want it lifted w/ nice big tires and plenty of power.  And come to think of it, a hard top would be safer than the soft top...

Anything else?

(The below would be a description of a Samurai solution.  TracKickVits would use other similar setups...)

From a practical standpoint (the feds might be a bit testy about packing automatics) I would:

1. mount a 12-gage pump-action overhead in a snap-lock mounting system

2. Install a NATO 7mm ammo box in place of the radio box for ammo storage.

3. Stock up on 12-gage slug rounds.

4. Store a pair of well-sharpened machetes each in a pocket installed on the back of both front seats.

5. Get a copy of Max Brooks "The Zombie Survival Guide".

6. A fold-down windshield kit might be useful...

One of my favorite (or favourite - if you hang daily with Brits) films is "Shawn of the Dead".

I absoutely HATE scary movies!  The Zombie Genre is the leaste-hated by me in this category...

Zombie Survival Guide is a mildly amusing tome...

I'm wondering if a set of Mat Trax would be better then tires...

Lockers front and rear so you don't have to worry about getting stuck as much.  :)

Squishy Zombie guts everywhere!

You'll have to load up on cinderblocks to get the desired effect, though.

I love the Mat Trax idea.  But what's the top speed with those?  Some zombies can run (depending on what movies they're in).

I also might include a flamethrower.  The sight of zombies on fire would add to the entertainment value.

You might want to rig something like a harpoon gun on your hood to cast the winch line (with grappling hook) over the pile of zombie bodies.  You don't want to be caught out of your Zuk when zombies are afoot...

I prefer the Mat Track method of climbing over "obstacles"...  Practical but a bit expensive.  But then who cares about costs when the zombies are everywhere!

I see no one has added to this "Survival List" in a long time,

All great Ideas!!

On Ack's wish list, I would change out the 12 ga. slugs for double 00/9 ball or 6 ball.
Same range, but it has the same effect as a machine gun in body damage in 1 shot!!
30 cal. holes inbound, organ donor on the flip side!!
Also; Gotta add some major "Scene/Take Down" lights, Zombies for some reason work the night shift.

I'd go for the lockers, for good ground speed, you know the Mummy walked with a "Gimp" but HE CAUGHT EVERYBODY!!

My 2 Bits,
