Hi i have a 88 sami i just picked up, for a decent deal its got a few well alot of little issues, :-\ i have looked on the forum and i am new cant find a good detailed link to properly install a spoa kit. i bought some good spring perches from 4x4 online. having a buddy of mine who is prob the best i know at welding and mechanical work. as i have read this lift can be done sloppy or right and if you have not done it before it will end up sloppy so if you could send me a link to this that would be great. and maybe a link for carb adjustment or specs cant find anywhere. i will be back for more help and maybe some pics when i get it to be less of a turd. i did however install custom 2004 Mitsubishi evo seats in! along with rhino liner comfy :)

Here you go, one of the better write-ups on doing a SPOA on the cheap:

If you bought spring pads, make sure you get ones that wrap all the way around the axle like Sky Manufacturing sells.  Otherwise you can rip them off the axle with spring wrap, especially in the rear.  If you have normal ones then add a brace between the new pads and the ones on the bottom.

Ye,that TORQUY 4 cyl might rip those welds loose!! A good welding will hold pretty damn good,I have seen/helped/done several SPOA and no issues with regular perches.Heck,I get my perches from a trailer supply Co.,the big thing is to grind down those welding spots to good bare metal !

Actually, the problem is the metal you are welding to.  You don't rip the welds off, you rip the tubing that the welds are attached to.  Usually while s-curving the springs at the same time.

As for the torque, when your running 140:1 it doesn't take more then 49lb's at the flywheel to bend things.  When I tore mine it was after I lost fwd due to a malfunctioning front locker and had to drive up some loose hills with 2wd.  When the tires would randomly grab traction I could lift the front tires off the ground.
