Groan on articulation?
« on: August 16, 2015, 07:38:30 PM »
Hi there,
I have a 96 sidekick , Altered Ego 4.5" suspension lift with ARB lockers added two weeks ago. Just recently on articulation at slow speed there seems to be a groan from the front end. Have been running a lot of washboard road lately.Looking for some suggestions to help point me in the right direction.
Thanks
lwing

Thats been happening occasionally on this site ( unknown pics showing up in posts)  As far as your suspension groan, have you visually examined everything ? Try and narrow it down to a specific side if you can, then start looking for anything different from the other side. It may be as simple as a dry bushing or some metal to metal contact where there shouldn't be any. Ask the MFG too, they probably have more insight on their own suspension than anyone.

You can edit your post and "deselect" the picture you don't want.

Groans on articulation can come from different places - on one of my vehicles it's the rear shocks that "moan" as the fluid flows through the valves

I had a similar problem.  It was the sway bar link on the passenger side.  The ball and socket joint had come apart.  All of the front end parts are easy to come by and not very expensive.
