This is not an acceptable solution for obvious safety reasons.  This is a brand new daily driver for my wife and child...  I will wait until a "real" solution is offered and settle for an expensive 2" suspension lift and much smaller tires than planned. ÂÂ

Not to pick on you, but lifting a vehicle, especially with a body lift, and considering safety as a daily driver with your family is, well, absurd.
If you want to be safe, don't lift a vehicle. No smart vendor will sell you a body lift and recommend it to be driven on the road. If you do and something happens, shame on you for putting you and your family in harms way.
That being said, I have a prototype 3" body lift from CALMINI on my GV. It's been on since early 2002, and has seen about 25K+ miles. No problems at all. They designed parts to replace OEM components in the steering linkage, and it all went together flawlessly.
My suggestion? Call 'MINI and request that they bring the GV body lift to market.
