ok well im going to build another rig 97 sport but want to throw 2.7 v6 into it my question is will it bolt up like the 2nd gen? as I have a 2002 2dr with a 2.7 I think I might have been done but curious/ I might make it 5 spd or maybe keep auto undecided
new rig aka "the mule" 2002 tracker
V6 swap auto  ,2 dr ,2" BL,2" jeffs kit 512 gears warn hubs and 30/9.5/15 BFG AT

I haven't heard of it being done, but I think it's "do-able" - it won't be a "bolt up" type swap, but it also shouldn't be too challenging - the frame on the Sidekick Sport is wide enough to accept the V6 without too much of a squeeze, as it was designed from day one to take the H20A, and there were actually more SV620 (known as the V6 Vitara Estate) built than SV418 (the Sidekick Sport) - I would suggest doing an entire drive train swap, with the exception of the axles, if you change transmissions you're going to end up with major ECM/TCM/BCM challenges.

I think that it will be full harness again. I will be able to take some measurements in a month or so to see what needs to be done, and to see if doable

What do you seek to accomplish by all that work? Run V6 power in a frame with a steering box?
97 Sidekick 4door 5 speed, 1.5 spacer lift, 2" body lift, CJ rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low <SOLD>
01 Vitara 2.0L 5 speed, 2.5" Calmini lift, 2" body lift, Sidekick rims, locked rear, 31's, 4:1 low, 5.13 diffs <SOLD>
03 XL7 2.7 5 speed, 4.5" AE lift with OME springs, 2" AE body lift, 5.13 diffs, 3:1 low, 235/80R17 BFG AT's on Ultra 17x8 with 1" spacers, skid plates, Balmer Fab front bumper
