My truck was a factory coily, one of those made in Japan from 1997 to 1999, when Suzuki was retooling / debugging for the introduction of the Jimny. I bought the Sami new in 1998.
Since that time, I´ve completely redone the suspension and drivetrain from the frame down, new springs, repositioned shocks, new control arms. there literally exists original NOTHING from the tranny down. Even the t-case has been swapped out for one from the old-style Samurai to enable the installation of gearing.
The axles are both Dana 30, which for a Zuk is plenty strong, IMHO, especially if you don´t do rocks. The front is ARB´d, the rear welded. And therein lies the reason for the locking rear hubs. When I have to drive on asphalt, I unlock the rear hubs, lock the front ones, put the t-case in 4x4 high and drive around in 4x2 front wheel drive. Works great!!!!!!!

I´m set up eventually to do a rear steer, but for now, I´ve just locked it straight ahead. One day I´ll get around to making it operational using a double ended hydraulic cylinder.........
