suspension lifts for sj410???
« on: September 05, 2003, 10:00:33 AM »
hello all
another newbie here as you might guess
just starting in a 4x4 club...doing trials..and am now suffering from the ever known 4x4 bugs bite

basically i am looking for a good suspension lift   have had a look at quite a few differeny types( as you know they come in all shapes and sizes)..infact i think i have looked at every site on the net ...but i am still not sure what i should go for

i think a 2 maybe 3 inch kit would be a big enough step but might go bigger..the main things i am looking for is pretty much the same as any one else...more clearance and more articualtion...(i need grip)
would be greatfull if anybody out there could shove me in the right direction

thanks for your time to any body who reads this....us newbies must be a real pain

i searched for 410 specific lift info and came up empty handed twice.....
i too would like some info on this subject as i have a 84 tin top out in the garage......
i originaly wanted to just swap in a sammy frame and drive train but working 50-60 hours a week leaves me with little time and even less enegy.........

soooo i know there are some people out there that have probably swap in sammy axel,s and drive train parts......

hearing about how they did this would save time and energy.......

stuff like t-case mounting ....spring pad location......

im not whineing i just dont have the time/energy to tackle all of this at once along with maintaining my 87
sammy and all of my other chores that i have to do after i get home from work :o
88 sammy with a few mods

Make sure and change the 'days to search back to' to a longer time period. The default is seven days but if you put in say 365 you'll get a year's worth of searchin.

As for lifts, I have an '85 SJ410 tin-top with a Calmini 5" bolt on combo kit on. It has a 1.8 Sport motor and is 'in the process' of being completed. The 82-85 SJ410 model is very similar to the Samurai in terms of suspension with the exception that the spring perches are located under the frame vs. outboard. So, most every lift will work. Call the vendors and ask them directly.
