Rear Rotated Calmini upper link Question

I was reading the mod by Mike H, and was wondering why the upper link was not set up by Calmini to correct rear pinion angle in the first place?   ???

Is there a reason why they built it that way?

i think it might have somthing to do with having to remove the rear coil cups and move them on the axle also.

The Calmini Upper V bar with the adjustment allows the owner to adjust the suspension to their best possible results without cuting off and relocating the cups. The average Joe wants a good performing Bolt On Kit and that is what Calmini produced. I was more than pleased with my Kit as sold by calmini but like it even better after over-rotating it ;)

It just hit me, you would have to cut an weld the spring cups on the axle if you wanted to correct your pinion angle.   ::)

With the axle rotation mod, the pinion points up at a sharp angle- does this create any problems with lubrication of the pinion?

My other question about that mod is: the lower u-joint is straight, but isn't the upper one still at an angle? Isn't it better if the two u-joints are at the same angle? Or do you use a CV-type driveshaft with this mod?

If you do a search of the forum you will find a diagram that shows how the angles work out the same. I don't think the diff angle is any worse than the front is after the drop brackets are fitted. I guess you just have to remember to jack it up to get the right amount of oil in.

the cal-mini kit has to keep some drive qualitys for the yuppies. (vibrations )over rotation makes for better drive shaft angles for the wheel in dude.   I maybe wrong in my thinking . stan

I've heard talk about rotating the rear lower
spring buckets, but I don't think this is a mod
that has to be done.

Lookat the front coils, they ride in a tinted spring
bucket in the lower A-arm, and I don't think I have
heard about any spring breakage ever, anyway just
