Track/Kick tcase gears don't usually offer any reduction in high ratio. You could look at the OTT industries Kicker3 conversion, that adds a Samuarai tcase behind the Kick tcase which will give you a reduction in high. I was hoping someone who had one would post because they can give you much more information.

You failed to mention if it is an auto
or a 5 speed (sorry if I missed this
on another thread)
but if you are driving an auto, some 5.12
gears from a Man Trans SideKick would
fix you right up

I don't think this will work for 31's     BUT

This was my solution to gearing my 4-dr which came stock with 5.125:1's

Kick T-case High range is 1:1   Add an OTT adapter and marry a sammy case  :o

Stock sammy t-case high range is 1.409

5.125 (axle ratio)            (multiplication factor of sammy High range reduction)
x  .409
----------------------
2.096125

2.096125
+5.125
========
7.221125

7.22:1  High range rear axle ratio  is Good  ;D

Izook  gear calculator says if your tire is 27" and you switch to 36" then you need a 6.833333333333333  axle gear to get back to the stock ratio.   Hope the extra .4 will help with rolling resistance ect...   Now how do you fit 36's under a kick again?

I got lucky and  found a deal on mine used.  It came with the everything you see here and was used under a sammy on 37's for 2 runs.    Web site is OTTindustries.com

My sidekick is a 5 speed manual. The problem with OTT is they want me to send my transfer case and also a sammy case. I live in Costa Rica and to do this would cost a lot of money and I would be without my sidekick for a long time. Not possible. Petroworks and Yukon have 5.38 or 5.60 ring and pinions. I never see these companies names mentioned. If I changed my 5.12 for the 5.38 or 5.60 and didnt increase my tire size wouldn't this give my enough torque/
Thanks Jimmy

I think those are both for the Samauri,
unless there is a new gear set available.
5.60s would be a good gear for you.

You might be able to swap out the gears
and 3rds but I don't know how this would
work, it might require a hybred axle housing

If you can find them

The 1991 Tracker/Sidekick 4DR, 1.6/8v came with 5.38:1 gears front and rear. If all you are looking for is a little more to overcome the tire size increase these would probly do the job.

Hard to find though.

Yes Snofalls

I promised that when switch time came on the Rally Kick you would have first dibs....that's why I didn't say I had any!
The project and my others are on temporary hold, but when time comes I promised you get first dibs and I will let you know....I even wrote it down in my daytimer.

Not to worry

I thought it was a 5.62 that was the rare and
elusive gear in that 4 door Kick ???

I think that in the past everyone just went for 5:83s. The 5.60s would probably do good enough for what you want. You will have to confirm that they do them in the appropriate (10 or 12) bolt fitting for your model.

5.38:1  I beleive was 4-dr 1.6L8v

5.6?:1 was 2dr 1.3L Kick  or am I wrong o that one...  I forget  :-X  But the Kick with the 1.3L is one of the rarest.
