I'm tossing around the idea of beefing up my auto a bit so I thought I'd ask here first.  What is available for aftermarket shift kits and such.  I called a local tranny shop and they wanted some stupid amount of money to do it so I thought I'd see what's available for parts or info. If anyone knows where to source these types of things or has a link to info I would greatly appreciate it.

This is for the 3 speed auto in a Tracker

Probably the best money you could spend would be on a transmission cooler if you don't have a decent one already and maybe look at using synthetic oil as heat is your biggest enemy.

Keep the ATF cool and clean, best bet
Other than that, the 3 speed is a TH180
it was also used in the Chevrolet Chevette (sp)
Shift and rebuild kits for those should work,
tho I have been told that there are 2 filter
styles, I don't know if this is a Parts house
problem, or if there were 2 different transmissions
in the TH180 line

I rebuilt mine, it wasnt that hard. There are NO high performance parts or shift kits available. I think the rebuild kit cost me $100, if you need any hard parts it will get more expensive

I think the difference between the th180n and th180C is the latter has the TCC lockup feature. I also think that after 1989 or so they are known as the 3L30.
