hesitation help PLEASE!!!
« on: March 14, 2005, 10:02:06 AM »
i am getting HUGE hesitation when ever i move the peddle more that 1/4" at a time, to the point of it almost dying if i kinda punch it.  what i have tried:

change out and adjusted tp sensor - no help
changed out idle speed control sensor - no help
put in new fuel filter - helped about 50%
wax pellet put back in - no help high idle
took back out and pluged - better idle still hesitates
changed out injector - no help
checked timeing - right on +20*
checked plugs and cleaned - no help
wires plugs cap rotar coil and vlines all new.

HELP!!!  this sucks.

could it be a loose timing belt, bad fuel presure reg, fuel pump?  since changeing the fuel filter helped it must be something having to do with the fuel? :-/ :'( :-[ >:(

thanks all!

Yep, sounds like the pump is having a hard time keeping up with the go-pedal.

36 PSI for an 8V TBI engine,
should be close to that to 43
PSI depending on the EFI system

check your temp sensor and make sure your engine warms up all the way.(gauge comes off of the cold side.)

I'd get a garage to check the fuel pressure, it shouldn't cost much.

if changing your filter helped than you might want to remove the pump assembly and check that the strainer on the bottom of the pump is not plugged with crap - you could have got some bad gas maybe?
